FBW GROUP acquires a district designated for development

Darmstadt. The FBW GROUP has acquired sections of the former Lincoln Barracks in Darmstadt and will be developing 11 new residential condominiums on the site. The plan is for a mixture of freely financed and also subsidized housing to be provided.

The FBW GROUP has acquired a site for development covering about 17,500 m² and intends to run the project in two phases. The apartments, which number 250 in total, will range from one- to seven-room homes for singles, students, couples, senior citizens, families, and people with disabilities. Moreover, several of the apartments will feature rooms for those with and without disabilities. Overall, the FBW GROUP’s new-build project will create around 19,700 m² of living space on the site, with 57 of the apartments earmarked as owner-occupied and geared towards medium-income buyers, who must fulfill the requirements set for a Hessen Loan to Promote the Purchase of Owner-Used Property. A further 53 units will be made available as rental apartments for tenants with low or medium incomes. The start of sales for all owner-occupied apartments is scheduled for Q4 2020.

The FBW GROUP is already developing comparable quarters in the Rhine-Main region and the new site in question forms section “N3” of the overall development of the Lincoln Housing Estate in Darmstadt. This new housing estate is located southwest of Darmstadt and the infrastructure is already in place, with a district park and countless shopping opportunities close by. The Lincoln Housing Estate boasts optimal access links and is easily reached by public transport. The innovative lincoln mobil mobility concept, in particular, means public transport, car-sharing arrangements, multi-modal transport, bicycle usage and pedestrian routes are skillfully interlinked.
